ABOUT US

Northwest Automotive Trades Association (NATA)

The ever-growing Northwest Automotive Trades Association (NATA) continues an Oregon automotive industry tradition that harkens back to 1914.

In that year, just a decade after Henry Ford used $100,000 in capital to establish the Ford Motor Company, ten Portland automotive aftermarket entrepreneurs banded together to create an organization designed to strengthen their businesses without interfering with each other’s competitive independence.

NATA has always provided a vital link between automotive businesses in our community and the automotive program here at Portland Community College. Through NATA we gather support for our program and our students seeking opportunities in the automotive industry. They also do a great job of presenting educational opportunities for business owners, working technicians, instructors, and students to keep up with the ever changing advancements in automotive technology.

Cathy Noles

Being involved with NATA and the Round Table encourage our school to put together an event called Auto Blast. Students visit local auto shops and local colleges to increase interest and create a smooth transition for the next step into the auto industry. It was informational for staff and students and looked forward to doing it again.

NATA is the best. If you are not using them for your group SAIF, it is a big mistake. Every year we get back a rebate and an annual discount off the SAIF premium. Yes it does vary but the lowest we have received it $906. Your yearly dues with NATA are reasonable. You will come out ahead.
NATA has our service industry’s best interest at heart. They have a great group health insurance. Don’t tell Cathi, but when I need help ( I hate insurance) I call her. She always figures it out

I am so grateful for NATA!
Our family owned automotive repair shop has been in business in the Portland area since 1986. When we joined NATA it grew our world. We have enjoyed the relationships we have formed along with access to education and and great member benefits such as health insurance! I urge anyone in the automotive industry to join Northwest Automotive Trades Association and experience the benefits that membership offers!

Margaret Ellenson, Owner

NATA is an incredible automotive resource. As an owner of three automotive shops I have reached out to them many times over the years and they are always responsive and knowledgeable. We have been with NATA for many years and I would highly recommend checking them out if you are a new or even older automotive business. They provide good content on their webinars that are monthly, share any new news and news in general that can help you in many ways. From the newsletters to the website and their folks reaching out to us really makes a difference! They not only care about the industry as whole, but care about their members. We will continue with NATA and love the value that they bring to all of us.

Sincerely,

NATA is a great asset to the automotive industry in the Pacific Northwest. Every year our savings on workmans comp insurance through NATA/SAIF alone pays for more than the annual NATA dues.
As a bonus we have been receiving refund dividend checks most years from SAIF because NATA members run safe shops resulting in very few claims.
There are also many other vendors that give us discounts because we are an NATA member.
NATA educational opportunities are invaluable. Thank you NATA, keep up the good work!

Jim Estes Garage

Jim Estes Garage has been a member of NATA since 1979. We have our health insurance through them along with our workers comp discounts. But that is not all that they provide us with. Over the years they have answered all my health insurance questions, workers comp questions, provided me with Covid information, hiring information, help setting up new Mitchell software, provided informative classes that we have attended, provided info on our garage keepers insurance, and assisted in general business procedure questions. They do not hesitate to get us to the people that can answer our questions if they are unable. They do all this with a beautiful attitude and a smile and often even a joke. Over the years we have become friends with the employees and have trusted them to guide us in our decision making. This organization has truly been an asset to our business and we value our membership on a daily basis.
